ABOUT US |
|||||
An Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (ED-XRF) spectroscopy Unit operates at the University of Ioannina (UoI), providing analytical services to members of the UoI, researchers from several Academic Institutes and Research Centers, as well as to other interested parties. The Unit is housed in the premises of the Nuclear Physics Laboratory and, since 2002, is part of the Network of Laboratory Units and Centers of the UoI. The XRF spectroscopy is widely used to perform elemental analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) in a variety of solid, powder or liquid samples. The method is multi-elemental, generally non-destructive and cost-effective, offers high analytical accuracy and precision, requires minimum sample preparation and is applicable to a broad range of concentrations, from 100% down to the ppm level. |
